Issues : Cautionary accidentals

b. 115

composition: Op. 2, Variations, complete

..

In GE (→FE,EE,FESB) a cautionary  was added to the f1 quaver in the L.H. and to the 10th R.H. semiquaver, f2. The accidentals do not seem necessary here; we do not include them in the main text.

In the main text we add a cautionary  to e3 and a  to a3. A natural was also added in GE3, while a  is present in AsI. In addition, in AsI, a  was repeated before the penultimate semiquaver.

b. 139

composition: Op. 2, Variations, complete

..

In the main text we add a cautionary  to f and f1 and a  to e1 and e2, as well as to e1 in the alternative harmonic and rhythmic accompaniment (the latter was also added by GE3). We also include the  to g1 and g2, which Chopin entered already into A. A similar situation is in b. 147 and 163.

In the main text we add a cautionary  to e in the chord in the alternative L.H. part. Chopin used it in this context in AsI, in the initial version of this place yet based on the same chord.

b. 182

composition: Op. 2, Variations, complete

..

In GE (→FE,EE,FESB) two poorly justified cautionary accidentals were added – a  to f, the 12th demisemiquaver, and a  to F, the 14th demisemiquaver. The former is also in AsI; however, Chopin omitted it in A. In the main text we do not include any of the accidentals.
The same applies to b. 198.
