In GE, FESB and EE bar 335 opens a new line, which caused the distortion of the slurs ending on the 1st quaver in this bar. In the graphic transcription we reproduce the versions of these editions without changes, whereas in the content transcription (version 'edited text') we give their most likely (according to us) interpretation. In the main text we reproduce the unequivocal notation of A and FE (the notation of FE could have resulted from Chopin's intervention in the copy of GE1 serving him as the basis, since on the basis of the notation of GE it is difficult to guess the correct version, and neither the reviser of EE nor the reviser of FESB succeeded at it).

In the main text we add cautionary accidentals – a  to e1 in bar 339 and to e2 in bar 340 and a  to g2 in bar 339. Such accidentals were also added in the first editions:

  • in EE to g2 in bar 340,
  • in FESB to e2 and a  to g2 in bar 340,
  • in GE3 to e1 in bar 339 and to e2 in bar 340.

The version of AsI is the initial version of the markings, in this bar enhanced by Chopin, but in analogous bars used also in the published version. The change of accent type is a typical arbitrary decision of EE – a similar situation is to be found in bar 347.
In FESB the first  was placed too early, while the 3rd accent was overlooked. This is careless notation of the version of A (→GEFE), which we do not consider an independent variant.

The version of A must be erroneous, which is indicated by a comparison with analogous bar 342, the text of AsI and probably Chopinesque proofreading of FE2. An octave sign was also added in GE2 (→GE3,FESB) and EE3. If – which is likely – the change in EE3 was introduced on the basis of a comparison with FE, it means that a copy of FE2 was used.
