The fact that the slur in FE (→GE) was led only to a1 seems a patent inaccuracy, hence to the main text we adopt the version of EEW. category imprint: Differences between sources; Editorial revisions issues: EE revisions , Inaccuracies in FE |

In this context, the absence of a sign is almost certainly an oversight by the engraver or Chopin. The sign added in EE is certainly an arbitrary revision, incorrect due to the chord change on the 3rd beat. In the main text, we propose an addition consistent with the harmonic course. category imprint: Differences between sources; Editorial revisions issues: EE revisions , No pedal release mark |

The extension of the hairpin in EEW is an arbitrary revision, probably based on the analogy with bars 2 and 10. See also bar 50. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: EE revisions |

In FE, bar 46 is the first in a new line of text, and the phrase mark begins there simultaneously with the continuation of the tie to f2. This suggests that this slur is also a continuation of a slur from the previous bar, but at the end of bar 45 there is only the beginning of the tie. Both in GE and EEW the slur begins from the first quaver in bar 46, but it is possible that Chopin wanted to lead the slur from the moment the note is struck, i.e. from the f2 quaver in bar 45. We consider this interpretation to be text of FE and we accept it in the main text. category imprint: Graphic ambiguousness; Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , Inaccuracies in FE , GE revisions , Uncertain slur continuation |

Similarly to bar 42, the extended hairpins in GE2 (→GE3) and EEW result from arbitrary revisions, probably based on the analogy with bars 2 and 10 (GE) or 42 (EEW). category imprint: Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , GE revisions |
