b. 40-42

composition: Op. 63 No. 1, Mazurka in B major
..
In AI Chopin continues the division into a melodic voice, encompassed with a slur, and accompanying voices, provided with staccato dots over the parts of both hands. It is only in bar 41 that a dot is missing, over the E-e octave, which must have resulted from the lack of space between the L.H. e and the R.H. g. In the content transcription (version 'edited text') we add this mark. category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations issues: Errors in FE , GE revisions |

There are no reasons to question the authenticity of the rests in the bottom voice present in bars 43-44 and 46-49 in FE (→GE,EE). However, it is difficult to find a justification why they were written in this very place, and not in bars 33-39. In AI Chopin was consistent – none of these bars contain rests. category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations |
