In A, the asterisk 
is written at the end of the bar, after the 3rd beat. In AI it is written earlier, under the 2nd beat. GE (→FE→EE) characteristically has the placed under the 3rd beat. Taking into consideration that the 3rd crotchet of the bar introduces a new phrase, the accompaniment for which is placed in the higher register, releasing the pedal slightly earlier than indicated by the notation of A seems convenient, e.g. as marked by Chopin in the analogous bar 36. For that reason we choose the latter version for our main text (cf. also pedalling of the 1st volta of that bar, not showing any differences in the sources).
