b. 26

composition: Op. 28 No. 17, Prelude in A♭ major

..

There is no  raising e1 to e1 in A (→FC,FE). The obvious inaccuracy was corrected in GE and EE.

b. 27-42

composition: Op. 28 No. 17, Prelude in A♭ major

..

As before, in A (→FCGE) the majority of the groups of repeated quavers were written as dotted crotchets or minims provided with quaver tremolo marks. In A this is how the L.H. in b. 32-33 and in the 2nd halves of b. 27-31, 36-37 and 42 and the R.H. in the 1st half of b. 32 and in the 2nd halves of b. 27, 29, 31, 33-34 and 42 were marked. There is a similar situation in FC (→GE) – except b. 36, while in GE also except b. 27. In addition, in FC (→GE1) the tremolo beam in b. 33 was overlooked – see the note in that bar.

b. 33

composition: Op. 28 No. 17, Prelude in A♭ major

..

In FC (→GE1) the tremolo beam was omitted in the abbreviated notation of repeated quavers. As a result, the L.H. chord is played there only once, at the beginning of the bar. The mistake was corrected in GE2 (→GE3). The beam visible in FC – written most probably in pencil – is a later addition by H. Scholtz.

b. 44-46

composition: Op. 28 No. 17, Prelude in A♭ major

..

In A (→FC,FE) accidentals were inserted very inaccurately – in total, 4 sharps and 12 naturals are missing – which, however, does not impede the determination of the correct text. Accidentals were being added in GE and EE, although it is only in EE2 that the notation is totally correct. The naturals before the b-b1 octave in b. 44 were also added in FED.
Interestingly enough, the notation of FCI is more accurate than the one of A – only one  and 5 naturals are missing.

b. 47-50

composition: Op. 28 No. 17, Prelude in A♭ major

..

As in the previous four-bar section, accidentals in A (→FE) are written inaccurately – 9 sharps are missing. In FC Fontana added one of them, yet overlooked the  before the middle note of the 2nd L.H. quaver in b. 47. A comparable number of deficiencies are to be found also in FCI. The oversights are obvious, and the majority of the accidentals were supplemented in GE and EE.
