Pedalling in GE

Our variant suggestion

Due to the reasons described in b. 19-20, in the main text we give the pedalling of GE in a variant form only. In this case, adding pedalling may be considered justified due to the span of the chord, which, according to the notation, is to be held on the 2nd beat of the bar. In practice, in order to avoid the simultaneous occurrence of dand c2, one can press the pedal on the 2nd quaver (holding the A note with fingers until that moment): cf. the pedalling in the ending of the Mazurka in G Major No. 1. Another solution would be playing the c1 note with the R.H.
