The missing staccato dot in b. 756 in FC (→GE1) is most probably an oversight. It was also the dot in b. 760 that was overlooked in GE1, which, most probably, is also an oversight. By adding both dots, the reviser of GE2 correctly guessed Chopin's intention. In turn, the origin of the version of GE3 is puzzling, since there is no acceptable reason to remove the dot in b. 760. In the main text we give the unequivocal slurring of A (→FC→GE1), confirmed by an identical notation in b. 762-763 as well as in b. 718-719. The fact of merging the slurs, which was performed in FE (→EE), is probably a result of mistaking the intersection of the slurs of A for their colligation. The separate slurs in GE2 (→GE3) are an arbitrary revision unifying the discussed slurs with the ones of FC (→GE) in b. 718-719 and 722-723.
