Staccato dots in GE3

In the entire Tutti (bars 100-119), GE3 added, and sometimes changed, articulation markings – slurs and, above all, staccato dots. Only in very few cases, those additions can be justified by a comparison with the analogous places, e.g. the dots in the L.H. in bars 116-117. Some of the added marks may be found in the orchestral parts FEorch (→GEorch), but there are also places in which the added marks are contrary to the marks in the parts, e.g. staccato in the L.H. in the second halves of bars 108-109 and 112-113 to the slurs in cellos and partially also in bassoons. Therefore, as a whole, those additions, which are more numerous than in the previous Tutti in bars 68-87, are arbitrary. The following changes were introduced:

  • the semiquavers in bars 100-103 were provided with staccato dots;
  • slurs and staccato dots were added in bars 105 and 107;
  • staccato dots in the L.H. in bars 108-109 were added;
  • dots and a slur over the semiquavers in bars 110-111 were added;
  • staccato dots in the R.H. in bars 112-113 were added;
  • 2 slurs in bar 114 were added;
  • articulation in bars 115-117 was changed and completed;
  • staccato dots in the L.H. in bars 116-117 were added.
