Short accents in EE

Long accents suggested by the editors

..

The accents in EE were added most probably on the basis of both analogous bars 292-293 and adjacent bars 307 and 310. In the main text, we suggest a similar addition; however, we apply long accents, just like in the remaining bars.

2 slurs in FE (→EE)

1 slur in GE

..

In the main text we adopt the change introduced in GE. While proofreading FE in similar places (bars 291-294 and 307-308), Chopin replaced shorter slurs with one two-bar slur three times; therefore, it is highly likely that leaving this place without correction was either an oversight (of Chopin or the engraver) or an acceptance of a version that was not ideal, but a version that did not significantly distort the phrasing.

b. 309

composition: Op. 11, Concerto in E minor, Mvt I

..

In FE (→GE1GE2), there is a cautionary  before din the last chord. The mark, superfluous in this context, was removed in EE and GE3.

Fingering written into FEFo

No teaching fingering

..

In the main text, we do not give here the fingering of FEFo, most probably coming from Chopin, since we have already included a version of that entry, expanded with one digit, in analogous bar 294.
