  b. 66-71

 in A

added in GE in bar 71

Pedalling in  FE (→EE)

In A, the only pedal mark in bars 66-71 is  at the beginning of bar 66. That notation is definitely incomplete, as the next point where the pedal marks appear is the beginning of bar  72 on a new page of the manuscript. In GE, an asterisk  was placed at the end of bar 71, probably added as part of editorial revisions. The complete pedalling for those bars was supplemented by Chopin in the proofing of FE (→EE).
