Theoretically, one could treat the repetition of a flat1 as intended and the tie added in FED and FES as connected with the altered idea of dynamics for the recurring theme. In our opinion, however, accidental omission of the tie by Chopin in A is much more likely. In any case, both those two additions and the tie supplemented by Franchomme in FEFr leave no doubt as to the composer's ultimate intention.
The adding of the tie in EE is the effect of revision based on the analysis of analogous places in the text (bars 3 and 47).
