b. 241

composition: Op. 22, Polonaise

g-e1 in FE (→GE)

e-g-e1 in EE

..

Nothing points to a possible authenticity of the version of EE. It is probably a revision by analogy with b. 261 or a mistake, e.g. an unfinished correction of the e-e1 octave – the correct g note was added, yet the erroneous e note was not removed.

e1-a1 in FE (→GE) & EE2

e1-a1 in EE1

Just like in b. 223 and 227, the version of EE1 in b. 243 and 247 is probably Chopin's mistake adopted from a proof copy of FE. The natural raising a1 to a1 was added in both bars in the penultimate stage of proofreading of FE (→GE). The correction was also introduced in EE2.

b. 244-248

composition: Op. 22, Polonaise

..

EE1 is lacking in the cautionary flats before a1 in the L.H. crotchet chord and before b1, the 4th R.H. semiquaver. The accidentals were added in the penultimate stage of proofreading of FE (→GE) as well as in EE2. In the main text we also add a  before a1, the 2nd R.H. semiquaver. Cf. b. 243.

b. 257

composition: Op. 22, Polonaise

..

In FE (→GE), there is no  restoring g2 on the 8th semiquaver and no  restoring b2 on the 15th semiquaver. Both manifest mistakes were corrected in EE

b. 258

composition: Op. 22, Polonaise

..

In the main text we omit the  before f1 in the last L.H. chord, unnecessarily repeated in FE (→GE). In EE this accidental is absent due to the layout – the 2nd half of the bar is printed in a new line, as a result of which all three accidentals from the beginning of the bar were repeated before the 3rd chord.
