In GE and EE, there is no little slur for the ending of the trill in bars 225 and 226-227. The missing slurs in GE could be justified by the fact that they were added only in the last proofreading of FE, whereas in EE it could have been an oversight of the engraver. In EE2, the reviser introduced slurs encompassing the main note and the ending of the trill, but only in bars 226-227. The slur in bar 225 was added in EE3. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , Inaccuracies in GE , EE inaccuracies |

The difference in the sound of the last chord in bars 116 and 228 could have been unintended. It is indicated by lack of other harmonic differences between the exposition and reprise. Chopin could have, e.g. changed bar 116, forgetting about analogous bar 228; he was prone to such inaccuracies while performing proofreading. Therefore, we suggest here an alternative version, analogous to bar 116. category imprint: Interpretations within context |
