The added a2 note may be a result of an overzealous interpretation of A by the engraver of GE (→FE→EE) – in the manuscript there are clearly only four notes, corresponding to the parts of flutes and clarinets of Morch, which was indicated in A with the help of relevant tags. Due to this reason, in the main text we preserve the notation of A. The version with a
2, although its authenticity is uncertain, may be considered an acceptable variant, since Chopin did not change it both in the proofreading of editions and in pupil's copies.
