The absence of the last of the three-quaver slurs in the L.H. is almost certainly Chopin's oversight. The slur was added in GE1 (→FE→EE), by embracing the entire 2nd half of the bar with it. According to us, the addition can come from Chopin; however, it was most probably misinterpreted by the engraver. In GE2 the slur was shortened after previous figures, which we give in the main text as probably corresponding to Chopin's intention. category imprint: Differences between sources; Editorial revisions issues: Inaccuracies in GE , GE revisions , Authentic corrections of GE |

According to us, the indication is to be interpreted as valid already from the beginning of the bar. It is one of examples of the manner of introducing indications within the scope of their validity, used sometimes by Chopin, particularly in his earlier works. In GE (→FE→EE) was most probably linked with the entrance of the L.H. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Inaccuracies in GE , Centrally placed marks , Inaccuracies in A |

The first out of two long accents, written in this bar in A, was overlooked in the editions, probably due to lack of space resulting from the placement of the Tutti indication between the staves in GE1. The second, excluding accidental changes of long accents to short ones and vice versa, was placed in GE (→FE→EE) in the middle between the staves (and not directly over the crotchet in the L.H.) and in FE (→EE), in addition, it was erroneously moved a quaver earlier. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Inaccuracies in GE , Inaccuracies in FE , Errors in GE |

The slurs in this and in the previous bar in GE1 were probably proofread by Chopin; however, the slur in the R.H. was left without correction here. It was considered a mistake both in FE (→EE) and in GE2, by extending this slur after the remaining ones. We also consider it to be an inadvertence, hence in the main text we give slurs embracing the entire motif in both hands. category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations |
