In the main text we preserve the notation of the accents of A. It almost certainly marks – in spite of the use of single signs in five out of six places – accenting of respective notes in both hands. In GE1 (→FE) the signs were moved to such an extent that they clearly refer to the R.H. We give the cresc. marking, together with the dashes marking its range, after A (see also bars 263-264). In GE the marking was put slightly further and the dashes were overlooked, whereas FE (→EE1) does not have it at all. The absence of the indication in FE could be explained by a mistake of that edition or by a repetition of the original error of GE1, which was corrected in GE1 only in the last phase of proofreading.
