b. 1
|
composition: Op. 64 No 2, Waltz in C♯ minor
..
The original version without upbeat was most probably valid still at the stage of writing A, since the arrangement of signs at the beginning of this autograph proves a later addition of upbeat. category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations issues: Differences in form |

b. 3-24
|
composition: Op. 64 No 2, Waltz in C♯ minor
..
On the 2nd beat in bars 3-4, 7-8, 19-20 and 23-24 As has two quavers in the R.H. In bars 3-4 and 7-8 the rhythm was probably written initially in AI too, Chopin, however, added there rests and semiquaver ties of the final version (it is proved by spaces between the notes). category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations issues: Corrections of AI |

b. 27-28
|
composition: Op. 64 No 2, Waltz in C♯ minor
..
The sources illustrate here Chopin's hesitation – c2 is repeated in As and A (→FE→EE,GE; except for GE2no2), yet it is sustained in AI and FED. In the main text, we give the version of the base source, i.e. A, particularly considering the fact that in the autograph Chopin most probably deleted the tie sustaining this note. Cf. also bars 29-30. category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations issues: Annotations in teaching copies , Annotations in FED , Corrections in A , Chopin's hesitations |

b. 29-30
|
composition: Op. 64 No 2, Waltz in C♯ minor
..
The tie sustaining b1 is absent in all base sources of the Waltz, hence we do not include it in the main text. However, the version of FED is most probably an authentic variant – ties are added there also in bars 27-28 and 155-156 and 157-158. category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations |
