b. 81-82
|
composition: Op. 25 No 11, Etude in A minor
..
In the main text we give the version of FE, including the arpeggio signs in both bars and probably completed by Chopin in the proofreading of FE or in the base text to this edition. Addition of the sign in bar 81 in EE3 is most probably a result of comparison with FE. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Authentic corrections of FE |

b. 82

composition: Op. 25 No 11, Etude in A minor
..
Lack of fingering in GC (→GE) is a result of an oversight – it is either Chopin who omitted GC, while proofreading and completing the performed Stichvorlage manuscripts, or the copyist who overlooked the fingering at the time of copying. category imprint: Differences between sources |

b. 83
|
composition: Op. 25 No 11, Etude in A minor
..
The fifth chord in GC (→GE) is a result of a correction (of Chopin or of the copyist), however, the initial version, then changed, was not the g-g1 octave present in FE and EE. Therefore, it seems that in the base texts to these editions Chopin changed this or another original version to the g-g1 octave. category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations |

composition: Op. 25 No 11, Etude in A minor

The pedalling of FE – from the 4th beat of bar 83 to the end of bar 87 – was probably added by Chopin in the proofreading of this edition. Similarly in bars 89-91. Detailed additions of pedalling in the final section of the piece were certainly introduced in the proofreading of FE of the Etude in A minor, No. 4. category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations issues: Authentic corrections of FE |
