Two arpeggio signs in FE & EE3

Arpeggio sign in bar 82 in EE1 (→EE2)

The reviser of EE3 undoubtedly used a copy of GE1 – cf., e.g., bar 1223 or 27-28. In this situation the addition of arpeggio in bar 81 is surprising, as it is absent in GE. Perhaps the reviser realised the absence of arpeggio in bar 82 and checked FE to reassure himself.

In the main text we include the arpeggio signs in both bars, probably added by Chopin in the proofreading of FE or in the base text to this edition.
