Chopin did not introduce any accidental before the 3rd chord (which results from the compatibility of the version of FC and FE). Hence it is to be interpreted as g-b-f1. The version of GE1 with g is undoubtedly erroneous – the reviser could have wanted to add a cautionary sign after the
lowering g
1 to g
1 at the beginning of the bar. In the same place, EE added a cautionary
(the sign could have been authentic, if it had already been in the base text to EE; however, an editorial revision is more likely). The mistake of GE1 was corrected in GE2 (→GE3), changing
before the bottom note for
; a cautionary
was also added before b and another before e1 in the next chord.
