b. 61
|
composition: Op. 25 No 5, Etude in E minor
..
It is difficult to decide how the difference in the rhythmic value of the e note occurred. The minim in FE can be the last element of separation of the bottom voice in the R.H. in bars 58-60 and due to this fact, we give it in the main text. However, one cannot entirely exclude an error of the engraver who could have relied on the minim note heads of the L.H. category imprint: Differences between sources |

b. 85-88
|
composition: Op. 25 No 5, Etude in E minor

GE arbitrarily added rests completing the bottom voice of the L.H. – two in bar 85 (only in GE2 and GE3) and one in bar 89 (in all GE). Rests in bar 85 were added also in EE3. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , GE revisions |

b. 86
|
composition: Op. 25 No 5, Etude in E minor
..
Most probably, only one of the two rhythmic values of the bass E is authentic, however, it is hard to determine which one. It is easy to imagine both an incidental omission and an erroneous addition of a dot extending the minim. In the main text, we adopt the version which in analogous bar 50 appears as the only one. category imprint: Differences between sources |
