The cresc. indication appears in AI more or less in the middle of the bar. It is the only dynamic indication in this bar there (together with the dashes determining its range). In A the indication is written – inside the  hairpins – slightly earlier, on the 2nd beat of the bar. In GE and FE it was placed later, at the beginning of the 3rd beat, while in EE earlier, at the beginning of the 2nd beat (in the latter the dynamic indications were separated by placing cresc. under the hairpins).

The cresc. indication was added in A most probably only in the last phase of preparation of the Etude for print, as it was not included in CDP (similarly as appassionato in bar 34). In FE and EE, cresc. appears slightly later, while in FE it is preceded by a   mark.

The appassionato indication, same as the leading to it three-bar cresc., was most probably added in A at the stage of final retouch before publication. Its absence in FE is probably a result of an oversight.

In AI, there are no dynamic indications in these bars, while in A Chopin introduced dim. in bar 35 and  in bar 36. We find this version copied in CDP. However, while reviewing A before handing it to the copyists preparing base texts for FE and EE, Chopin changed the concept – he deleted dim. and added  before .
