Staccato in GE1

In the proofreading of FE1 Chopin added staccato dots for the L.H. in the 2nd halves in bars 85-86 and in the 1st half of bar 87. Moreover, he added dots also in the R.H. in the 2nd half of bar 85. According to us, it is the gap in the indications of the R.H. that could have drawn Chopin's attention, who noticed some defects also in the L.H. near this place (similarly in bars 89-90). GE1 overlooked dots next to the 4th note from the end and the last note in the L.H. in bars 85-86. Cf. bars 69 and 70-71

Leaving the staccato dots in FE (→EE) is, according to us, a result of an inaccurately performed proofreading, whose aim was – same as in analogous bar 25 – to replace dots with accents. The dots were not included in GE, probably after comparison with bar 25. The absence of the accent in the R.H. is certainly an oversight of GE3 (→GE4).
