Chopin wrote the tremolando indication in A in an abbreviated tremol. form, which was developed in the editions as tremolo. Although both expressions tend to be considered to be synonyms, some of the authors reserve tremolo for the effect of repeating one sound, which, on keyboard instruments, is much less frequent than the used by Chopin (also rather exceptionally) interchangeable repetition of two notes. Due to this fact, in the main text we suggest tremolando. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: FE revisions |

As in bars 35-36, the tie sustaining F is most probably an erroneous interpretation of the motivic slur of e-f added by Chopin in the proofreading of FE1. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , Placement of markings , GE revisions , Authentic corrections of FE , FE revisions |

As in bar 37 A has no accidentals before the first quaver. The sharps necessary to indicate notes c, c1, c2 were not written by Chopin until the last semiquaver in the bar, and only in the R.H. The editions filled in the essential signs and GE2 (→GE3→GE4) and EE2 added an extra before c at the end of the bar. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources; Editorial revisions issues: EE revisions , GE revisions , Omission of current key accidentals , FE revisions |
