Doubled hairpins in FE (→GE1,EE) may be explained with Chopin's proofreading of an inaccurately arranged mark: at the beginning the engraver arranged too low, so it seems that it refers to the L.H., which Chopin corrected by adding the 2nd mark over the R.H. The change is of an ad hoc nature, hence in the main text we give the version of A. The correct notation was also guessed in subsequent GE,s. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Inaccuracies in FE , GE revisions , Authentic corrections of FE |
