The staccato dot written in A over the first bass octave in bar 177 was overlooked in other sources except EE. In this edition the dots were also added to the next two bass octaves, in the middle of bar 177 and at the beginning of bar 178.

The omission of an accent over the a-a1 octave in bar 180 in GC (→GE) and FE (FE omitted two previous accents as well) results almost certainly from distraction caused by deletions and corrections in A – Chopin was forced to write the ultimate version of the 2nd half of bar 179 in the margin because there was not enough space over the stave.

The lack of tie to g2 in GC (→GE) is certainly an oversight of the copyist, provoked presumably by deletions and corrections in A – Gutmann also omitted one of the accents there. Cf. bars 183-184.

The omitted accents in both GC (→GE) and EE most probably result from inadvertence. Having completed copying notes and beams from an additional staff in A, the copyist might have looked at the main staff on which only the accent above the octave a-a1 is written.

The ties sustaining the sixth b-g1 were overlooked – both in GC (→GE1→GE2), the lower one in EE. The mistake was corrected in GE3, possibly after FE.
