Issues : Annotations in FES
b. 3
|
composition: Op. 10 No 6, Etude in E♭ minor
..
The fingering in the L.H. was added by Chopin during a proofreading of FE (→GE,EE). Chopin suggests here a different, slightly more demanding finger arrangement than at the beginning of the piece. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: Annotations in teaching copies , Annotations in FES , Authentic corrections of FE |

b. 17

composition: Op. 10 No 6, Etude in E♭ minor
..
In FE (→GE) the lower digit of the last triad's fingering in the R.H. (4) seems to be erroneous, which is proved by a correction performed by Chopin in this place in FES. A similar change was introduced by Fontana in EE. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Annotations in teaching copies , EE revisions , Errors in FE , Annotations in FES |

b. 18
|
composition: Op. 10 No 6, Etude in E♭ minor
..
In A (→FE→GE1→GE2→GE3→GE4) there is no raising c1 to c1 in the chord at the beginning of the bar, which must be an error. Chopin added the necessary sign in FED (as well as the second one "on the run", unnecessary before c in the 2nd half of the bar). The correct text is included also in EE and GE5. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: Annotations in teaching copies , EE revisions , GE revisions , Omission of current key accidentals , Errors of A , Annotations in FES |

b. 18-19
|
composition: Op. 10 No 6, Etude in E♭ minor
..
In A (→FE) Chopin omitted the naturals raising B1 to B1, C to C and c to c. The second of them was added in FES. In GE a was added at the end of bar 18, yet both signs in bar 19 appeared only in GE3 (→GE4→GE5). EE has the correct text. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: Annotations in teaching copies , EE revisions , Accidentals in different octaves , GE revisions , Omission of current key accidentals , Annotations in FES |

b. 20

composition: Op. 10 No 6, Etude in E♭ minor
..
In A (→FE→GE1→GE2,→EE2→EE3) there is no raising G to G. This patent accuracy was corrected in FES and later editions. In the sources the natural raising g to g is before the first sustained semiquaver in the bar. We move it before the 4th note, according to General Editorial Principles, p. 3. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Annotations in teaching copies , EE revisions , GE revisions , Omission of current key accidentals , Annotations in FES , Inaccuracies in A |
