The slur of A, despite the fact that it begins from the 3rd or 4th semiquaver in bar 33, is certainly to be interpreted as embracing the entire 4 bars. In FE (→GE,EE) the slur in bar 33 was omitted, which is a patent error (in FE the bar is at the end of the line). Although Chopin did not add the slur in bar 33 while proofreading FE, he included sempre legatissimo. However, according to us, this indication does not have to be considered only as a substitute of the slur, which in fact does not limit to determine just the articulation. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources; Editorial revisions issues: Inaccuracies in FE , Inaccurate slurs in A |

The dynamic hairpins were added by Chopin during a proofreading of FE (→GE,EE), thus we give them in this form in the main text. Taking into account possible inaccuracies of the signs' range due to the division into great staves, as an alternative we suggest the version in which the signs in this and the next four-bar section were unified. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: Authentic corrections of FE |

Chopin added the indication in a proofreading of FE (→GE,EE). The incentive could have been the overlooked beginning of the slur (see the adjacent remark); however, the mark can also be considered as a more general hint, independent from the slurring. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Authentic corrections of FE |
