According to us, the mark written by Chopin in FEcor is a long accent, same as in analogous bar 17. An unequivocal long accent is also in Ap. In FE (→GE1→GE2) the mark was interpreted as hairpins, which, in this case, cannot be considered as an inaccuracy. In EE2 and GE3 (→GE4→GE5) the sign was omitted, whereas in EE3 (→EE4) a long (!?) accent was added. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: Long accents , EE revisions , Errors in EE , Errors in GE |

The slur over the chords on the 2nd and 3rd beats of bar 44 was added by Chopin in FEcor (→FE→GE); it is also in Ap. In EE2 the sign was overlooked, which was more than compensated in EE3 (→EE4), adding also a slur combining the fifth at the end of bar 44 with the octave at the beginning of bar 45. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , Errors in EE |

The sources differ in the number of octaves written in an abbreviated form with the use of 8: three in CLI, the 2nd and 3rd in Ap, 3rd in FE. Both in GE and EE the use of abbreviations was totally rejected. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , GE revisions , Authentic corrections of FE , Abbreviated octaves' notation |
