In bars 1 and 5 in CLI there are no naturals returning a1, d2 and f2. The signs were also originally absent in FEcor (→FE,EE), in which Chopin added all of them. A correct notation is featured in Ap too. Similarly as in all subsequent repetitions of this bar (bars 9, 13, 36 and 40). category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: Omissions to cancel alteration , Authentic corrections of FE |

Before the last semiquaver in bar 1 FE (→EE2) has an undoubtedly authentic cautionary . The revisers of GE and EE3 (→EE4) added it also in bar 5. According to us, the signs in such a regular figuration are superfluous. category imprint: Differences between sources; Editorial revisions issues: GE revisions , Cautionary accidentals |

The cautionary accidentals before c1 in the L.H. were added in the L.H. in one of the last proofreadings of FE (→GE). They are also included in EE, apart from the missed in bar 5 in EE2 (the engraver of EE also omitted in bar 6, thus there are no accidentals on the entire stave of the 3rd great stave). This undoubtedly necessary addition probably comes from Chopin, although the signs are not to be found in any of the manuscripts. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Cautionary accidentals , EE inaccuracies , Authentic corrections of FE |

The slurs in Ap seem to be fragmented and their task is probably only to remind of the legato articulation. Anyway, Chopin did not determine the phrasing here in the version prepared for printing. category imprint: Graphic ambiguousness; Differences between sources issues: Inaccurate slurs in A |

In FEcor Chopin added staccato dots also under the semiquavers of the lower voice in the R.H. (in bar 4 only under the first one). In a later proofreading he changed his mind, so that in FE (→GE→EE) the dots are eventually absent. The staccato signs are also absent in Ap, in which they would be, however, contrary to the longer rhythmic values of the described two-note chords. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations |
