No marking in CLIFE (→GE,EE

in Ap

We do not consider  present in Ap in the main text, as it seems to go beyond the dynamic framework of this part of the Etude. See bars 15-16.

In FEcor Chopin changed the crotchets in the L.H., included also in CLI and Ap, to quavers separated with rests. It is one of a few changes of this kind; similarly in analogous bar 43.

b. 17

composition: Op. 10 No 2, Etude in A minor

Crotchet in CLI

Quaver & rest in FE (→GE,EE

..

The crotchet in CLI is the original version (as in the previous bar). In this case Chopin shortened it to a quaver with rest both in Ap and FEcor (in FE1 only a rest was mistakenly added).

b. 17

composition: Op. 10 No 2, Etude in A minor

Fifth in CLI

in ApFE (→GE,EE

..

The fifth in CLI is definitely the original version, rejected by Chopin both in Ap and FE (→GE,EE). However, in analogous bar 44 Chopin did not waive his original concept.
