A is missing the  before the penultimate semiquaver (b). Chopin noticed this patent inaccuracy while proofreading FE, yet initially the sign was erroneously inserted before the last note (d1), which was reproduced in GE1 (→GE2). In the last proofreading of FE (→EE), the  was moved to the right place, a relevant addition was also introduced in GE. In GE3 (→GE4), the superfluous sign before dwas removed.

The pedalling in these bars was added by Chopin in a proofreading of FE (→EE). The first  mark was placed only in bar 48, which is most probably a mistake. In GE the mark was moved to the end of bar 47, in accordance with the harmonic sense. We suggest a similar correction in the main text.

In A the only accidental in the part of the R.H. is the  before the 3rd semiquaver (c2). In a proofreading of FE (→EE), Chopin also added a  before the 2nd note (b1). It is probably a correction of the manuscript's inaccuracies, yet in this harmonic context the version with b1 (b2) as a possible original version cannot be entirely excluded. The accidentals in the 2nd group of semiquavers are included only in GE (in A, in which the middle part of the bar is written – same as in the following bars – with the octave sign, a sign or signs were not necessary).

In A there is no cautionary  before b1 at the beginning of the bar. The sign was added in FE (→EE), probably during the last proofreading, as it is absent in GE1. In subsequent GE,s it was however completed, while in GE3 (→GE4) a  before b2, the 4th semiquaver, was also added.
