The indication sempre legatiss. was added in a proofreading of FE (→GE,EE). It could be assumed that Chopin added it instead of a slur in bars 85-88, overlooked in FE. A similar addition in bar 81 suggests, however, that the composer did not see anything wrong with simultaneous presence of both indications.
