b. 439

composition: Op. 39, Scherzo in C♯ minor

One-part notation in EE & GC (→GE)

Two-part notation in FE

..

For the main text we adopt a one-voice notation like the one in the corresponding b. 97 in all the sources.

..

b. 476-477

composition: Op. 39, Scherzo in C♯ minor

No tie in EE & GE

B tied in GC & FE

..

No tied in EE seems to have been overlooked. The GC notation is imprecise - at the end of b. 476 (the last one one the page) there is no tie, but it appears in b. 477. However, in GE the tie was not included.

b. 504

composition: Op. 39, Scherzo in C♯ minor

..

In EE both minims share a stem, which must have resulted from misinterpretation of the basis manuscript.

b. 519-528

composition: Op. 39, Scherzo in C♯ minor

Tied chords in EE

Repeated chords in GC (→GE) & FE

..

In EE all the chords notes are tied in bars 519-521 and 527-529, however in b. 521 there is no f note. This must have resulted form misinterpretation of Chopin's notation and supplementing of allegedly missing ties by the editor. In the main text we present the consistent version of GC (→GE) and FE.
