In our opinion, the second marking that can be seen between the staves in GE (→FE→EE) is either the engraver's mistake or an addition resulting from proofing. Cf. bars 19 and 105. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: GE revisions |

In GE2 (→GE3), the additional slur over the triplet was removed. We make the same revision in accordance with the General Editorial Principles, p. 6. category imprint: Differences between sources; Editorial revisions issues: GE revisions |

We give the agogic indication as contained in A, we also reproduce the text layout in relation to the notes. GE has a stretto instead of e stretto, which changes the sense of this indication to a certain degree; also, it is placed earlier, at the beginning of bar 45. In FE (→EE) the error of GE was corrected and the inscription moved back to its original place as in A. This is probably Chopin's correction. In EE and GE2, greater care was taken to ensure a more uniform arrangement of particular words in relation to the musical text. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , Inaccuracies in GE , GE revisions , Authentic corrections of FE |

In bars 45 and 49 in GE2 (→GE3) small slurs were arbitrarily added to link grace notes with their main notes. Chopin did sometimes use such slurs in his notation (e.g. in Mazurka in C no. 2, bar 6), but more often than not he omitted those purely conventional signs. The revision was made for the entire Mazurka. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: GE revisions |
