Lack of staccato dots in A (→GE1→FE→EE) is, in our opinion, the result of Chopin's oversight. An accent under the syncopated octave f2-f3 in bar 42, longer than usual here in A, was printed at the beginning of bar 43 in GE1 (→FE). In EE the accent was omitted altogether, which is probably an error. In the editors' opinion, the absence of an accent - a long one, as in bars 38 and 40 – at the beginning of bar 42 is the result of Chopin's inattention, therefore we suggest adding it.
