An alternative suggested by the editors

The asterisk , entered in A under the 3rd crotchet of the L.H. was placed after that crotchet in GE1 (→FE, GE2). In EE and GE3 the asterisk is placed more or less in accordance with A. In most analogous bars Chopin wrote  before the 3rd crotchet, which - in our opinion - may be considered an alternative interpretation of A also for the discussed bar.

No accent mark in A (→GE1→FE→EE) 

An accent in GE2 (→GE3)

The editors' proposition
..

The absence of an accent in A (→GE1→FE→EE)  seems to be the result of Chopin's oversight; this finds confirmation in the fact that accents are present in the corresponding bars of the other repetitions of that phrase, as well as in analogous bars 100 and 104. A short accent was added in GE2 (→GE3).
