The editors' suggestion

Throughout the Mazurka, the eight-bar main theme appears six times (bars 5-12, 13-20, 37-44, 45-52, 99-106 and 107-114). The discussed bar belongs to the 3rd progression section constituting the theme, and the problematic dot between the notes of the sixth a1-f2 is the only possible staccato sign in that section.
