b. 94

composition: Op. 24 No. 4, Mazurka in B♭ minor

A more probable reading of the slur of A

A less probable reading of A (→GEFEEE)

..

The extent of the slur of A is somewhat unclear from the graphic point of view; we adopt the interpretation that is more natural in the context and consistent with the slurring in the two preceding bars. In GE (→FEEE) the whole motif in that bar was slurred.

b. 94

composition: Op. 24 No. 4, Mazurka in B♭ minor

..

It is not entirely clear whether Chopin intended the accent in A to apply to the right hand, as was understood in GE1 (→FEEE), or to both hands, which we consider more likely. Allocation of the accent to the left hand, as in GE2 (→GE3), is in our opinion a mistake.

b. 95

composition: Op. 24 No. 4, Mazurka in B♭ minor

It can be noticed in A that Chopin changed the notation of dotted quavers from a1 to b double flat1.

b. 96-98

composition: Op. 24 No. 4, Mazurka in B♭ minor

in A

in GE1 (→FEEE)

in GE2 (→GE3)

..

In GE1 (→FEEE) the dashes marking the extent of the dynamic change were omitted. In GE2 (→GE3) the dashes were put back, yet Chopin's abbreviation dim. was changed to dimin.

b. 97-99

composition: Op. 24 No. 4, Mazurka in B♭ minor

accel. in A

accellerando in GE1 (→FE, GE2)

accelerando in EE

..

In EE the agogic indications in those bars were placed between the staves. Chopin's abbreviation accel. was replaced with the full word in GE (→FEEE). In GE1, GE2 and FE that full-word term was misspelt (double 'l').
