b. 5
|
composition: Op. 24 No. 2, Mazurka in C major
..
The double bar line that can be seen in A was omitted from GE1 (→FE→EE). As no traces of correcting are visible, this is most probably a mistake. The double bar line was restored in GE2 (→GE3). category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Inaccuracies in GE |

b. 56
|
composition: Op. 24 No. 2, Mazurka in C major
..
A has a single bar line here. Chopin sometimes used double bar lines but did not add them automatically to indicate changes of key, where their significance is mostly conventional. Such a routine addition was made in GE (→FE→EE). A similar situation appears in bar 88. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: GE revisions |

b. 70-88

composition: Op. 24 No. 2, Mazurka in C major
..
Chopin emphasized the accompaniment nature of the R.H. part in A by writing it out in small notes. However, the difference in note size went unnoticed in GE (→FE→EE), which may have later prompted Chopin to draw engravers' attention to that kind of detail by means of a special note in the autograph (cf. Etude in A flat major Op. 25 no. 1 and Prelude in F sharp minor Op. 28 no. 8). category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Inaccuracies in GE |
