The exact moment when the slur beginning in bar 70 ends is not clearly marked in A: if one were to be guided solely by the graphic image, one should rather end the slur on the 1st crotchet of bar 72. However, leaving the 2nd crotchet unslurred is musically unconvincing, so the solution adopted in GE (→FE→EE) seems correct.

In A, the L.H. slur begins far before the 1st note of the bar, as if continued from the previous bar. Yet neither the notation of bar 74 nor the structure of motifs in this section (marked in a fairly unambiguous way) allow for such an interpretation.

The exact ending point of the slur in bar 80 is not clear in A. Numerous examples of 'embracing' slurs in the entire opus 24 may be an argument for ending the slur on the 2nd quaver of the bar. This is how the slur was reproduced in GE1 (→FE→EE). However, 'pointing' slurs are also present in A, and in this case the context speaks for such understanding the discussed slur in such a way, as :

  • in this part of the work, in the mazurka rhythm  quavers are never separated from the crotchet that follows them;
  • in the alternative version of the ending of that phrase in bars 75-76 Chopin corrected slurring in A; the results of those corrections may be considered applicable also here.

GE2 (→GE3) have the slur reaching the crotchet on the 2nd beat of the bar.

The moment when the slur ends is not quite clear in A. For the reasons discussed in the note to bars 79-80 we consider it much more probable that Chopin intended the slur to reach B on the 2nd beat of the bar. This is also the interpretation given by GE (→FE→EE).

Both the slur end in bar 84 (the last one in the line) and the slur beginning in bar 85 are notated in A in the manner that indicates uninterrupted slurring. Yet in GE (→FE→EE) those slurs were reproduced as separate ones, which - considering consistent two-bar slurs in bars  75-82 and 87-88 - may be deemed acceptable.
