The slurs in the autographs are written inaccurately, imprecisely. We assume the most possible interpretations. All slurs begin in the same place, in bar 17. The following variants of slurs from bar 17 to the 1st volta are possible:
1. One phrase mark:
- to the end of bar 18 in AK
- to the end of bar 19 in AG (→CY)
- including the 1st note in the 1st volta in AO and CX
- to the end of the 1st volta in AR
2. Two phrase marks in AE: the first like in AO and CX, the second - embracing the entire 1st volta

In the editorial versions of the sources in which the slur includes the 1st note in the 1st volta, i.e. AO, AR, AE, CX, we lead the slur also to the 1st note in the 2nd volta.

There is an ambiguous sign in two autographs, AO and AG. It may be interpreted as a wedge or staccato. In AO, the marking is not placed directly over the b1, note, it is moved to the left, towards the bar line. In AG, the marking is written over the b1.
In CY, the copyist wrote a staccato dot.
