Chopin entered into A an unnecessary  to e2 in the 2nd L.H. chord in bar 289, and omitted this accidental to e in the R.H. in bar 292. Both defects were corrected in GE (→FE,EE,IE). Moreover, none of the sources include a  to e2 in the 2nd half of bar 290, which results from a different rule regarding the validity of accidentals in the presence of an octave sign.

In A there is no  to the 2nd quaver in bar 296. Chopin's typical inaccuracy was corrected in GE (→FE,EE,IE). Moreover, a cautionary  was added to B, the 5th quaver, which we include in the main text. On the other hand, we omit the unjustified  to A in bar 297, present in A (→GE→FE,IE).

All sources feature a  to the G quaver. This accidental, in A written at the pitch of B, is a remaining element of the initial version, in which the 2nd half of the bar was the same as in the preceding bar. According to us, it could have been the initial version, changed in order to achieve a smoother transition – without repeating C – between the bars, or simply a mistake, consisting in copying the fragment of the preceding bar. In the main text we omit this unjustified accidental.
