As was the case 4 bars earlier, the shorter top slur in GE (→IE) is probably a revision, while the omission thereof – mistakes by FE and EE. On the other hand, such a double oversight in unrelated sources seems highly unlikely. Therefore, it is possible that the slur was added to GE1 after the remaining editions had been prepared (see bar 225), while its presence in IE resulted from an independent revision, introduced by analogy with bars 164-165.
The omission of the d
2-e2 slur in bars 169-170 in all editions is almost certainly an oversight – in A the slur is poorly visible.
