Crotchet f1 in A

Crotchet c1-f1 in GE

Crotchet c1 in FE, EE & IE

In GE the change of the stems' direction forced a change to the arrangement of voices on the 7th quaver in the bar. In the main text we keep the A notation, in which it is only f1 that is prolonged to a crotchet. The GE version, equally justified in terms of harmony, can be considered an acceptable variant. On the other hand, the versions of the remaining editions certainly distort Chopin's intention.
