Slurs
b. 194
|
composition: (Op. 4), Sonata in C minor, Mvt I
..
In the main text we suggest a slur under the quaver group after the analogous situations in bar 16 and 42. GE (→FE,EE,IE) also added a slur. category imprint: Differences between sources; Editorial revisions issues: GE revisions |

b. 196-197
|
composition: (Op. 4), Sonata in C minor, Mvt I
..
In the main text we keep the A notation, devoid of slurs, since the performance manner of bar 196 is already obvious; however, the range of a possible slur in bar 197 could be questionable. The reviser of GE (→FE,EE) did not have such concerns, as he added four-quaver slurs in both bars. The slightly inaccurate ending of the latter one could have made IE prolong the slur in bar 197, as far as to the a1 crotchet, which, however, is not apparent at all in the GE notation. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: GE revisions , |

b. 199-200
|
composition: (Op. 4), Sonata in C minor, Mvt I
..
In the main text we keep the A notation, as in the entire theme the A slurs are much less numerous than in the exposition – e.g. the L.H. slurs in bars 195-197 and 201-202 are absent. category imprint: issues: GE revisions |

b. 203
|
composition: (Op. 4), Sonata in C minor, Mvt I
..
In A the L.H. slur in the 1st half of the bar encompasses only the 2nd and 3rd quaver. It is almost certainly one of the more glaring examples of the inaccurate notation in this autograph (in this respect), hence to the main text we adopt the editions' interpretation of this slur. category imprint: Graphic ambiguousness; Differences between sources issues: Inaccurate slurs in A , GE revisions |

b. 205
|
composition: (Op. 4), Sonata in C minor, Mvt I
..
As in analogous bar 41, in the main text we leave the literal interpretation of the A slur. In GE (→FE,EE,IE) it was routinely adjusted to the half-bar quaver group. category imprint: Graphic ambiguousness; Differences between sources issues: GE revisions |
