As was the case with the earlier markings, Chopin added detailed pedal markings concerning these bars to A (→GE) after [FC] had already been finished. On the basis of GE1, the markings were also added to EE2, yet it was only the marks in bars 21-23, 37 and 39 that were repeated, while the remaining ones were replaced by a general indication sempre at the beginning of bar 24 (see also the note in bar 22). category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations |

In FCs on the 2nd beat there is an F1-F octave in the L.H., with an 8 below. In FCs the shortcut notation of octaves with the use of 8 can be seen a few times; however, in this place it having been used along with a written-out octave must be a mistake by Fontana or by Chopin himself. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Source & stylistic information issues: Abbreviated octaves' notation |

In the main text we include the undoubtedly Chopinesque change of the L.H. chord on the 4th beat of bars 26 and 34, introduced at the stage of proofreading FE1. In EE2 both chords were restored to their initial versions, most probably after comparing it with GE1. category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations |
