b. 86-89

composition: Op. 49, Fantaisie in F minor
..
In A (→GE) and FE Chopin provided the top notes of the minim chords in bar 86 and 89 (g) and the 3rd quaver in bar 86 (g1) with naturals (cautionary?). The unjustified accidentals were removed in EE; we also omit them in the main text. The EE revision was performed only just while proofreading the print copy, which is proven by the clearly visible traces of deleted marks. Interestingly, traces of removal of the to g1 can also be seen in bar 89, which means that an initial revision was performed prior to printing, in which this was added by analogy with bar 86. category imprint: Differences between sources; Editorial revisions issues: EE revisions , Cautionary accidentals , Last key signature sign |

b. 87
|
composition: Op. 49, Fantaisie in F minor
..
In A Chopin put a only to the 4th quaver (g2), considering an analogous alteration in the 4th triplet (g3) to be obvious. In FE (→EE1) there are no accidentals in the R.H. part, which must be a mistake. The correct notation with two flats is present in GE and – most probably on the basis thereof – in EE2. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , Errors in FE , Accidentals in different octaves , GE revisions , Inaccuracies in A |

b. 87-88
|
composition: Op. 49, Fantaisie in F minor
..
In A (→FE1) there are no accidentals in the 2nd half of bar 87 nor in the 2nd triplet in bar 88. They are inaccuracies, typical of Chopin, resulting from his habit of omitting 'obvious' accidentals when repeating schematic figures based on one chord (bar 87) or from the conviction that the accidentals are valid in spite of the use of an octave sign (bar 88). In FE2 a was added to a1 in the 3rd chord in bar 87 and to a2 in bar 88. EE and GE include all the necessary accidentals. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , Accidentals in different octaves , GE revisions , FE revisions , Inaccuracies in A , Errors repeated in FE |
