FE is lacking the dashes determining the crescendo's range, which is supposedly the engraver's oversight. Such errors were quite frequent in Chopin's first prints. Division of the word crescendo into syllables in EE is probably a revision of that edition (cf. bars 25-26), although such a notation can also be found in Chopin's autographs. The sign staccato over f2 in A has clearly a shape of a wedge, similarly in FE and EE. In GE the sign was interpreted as a dot, which does not stem from A's ambiguous notation, but from the general rule adopted in the edition: in the entire Impromptu there is not a single appearance of wedges.
